A:Supervision is required with Snug Play. No special training is required, however for ideas of how to get the best from the system during playtime and to extend classroom learning, see the Snug Play Inspiration Activity Cards.
Q:How do I store Snug Play?
A:We have developed a special Snug storage unit that can be purchased in addition to the kit. The storage is designed to house everything except the Cones, Loop and Mound which are designed to stay out in the play area. Details of how to use the storage unit are given in the Storage unit sheets in the Snug Play User’s Guide.
Q:How long does it take to put away and bring out?
A:It takes a group of 8 children and an adult about 5 minutes to take all elements of the Snug system out of storage.
Q:Do we need to install Snug Play ourselves and if so how do we do this. How many adults are needed?
A:No ground installation is required with the Starter or Max systems. With the Ultimate system, the Mound will need bolting together into your chosen configuration. This is simple, instructions and the necessary tools are supplied with the system, and this can be done easily by two adults.
Q:Is Snug Play suitable for children with special needs?
A:Yes, it was designed with them in mind and has been evaluated by Lekotek for inclusion. Please find out more about this exciting evaluation and about how Snug Play is an inclusive play product by going to our Inclusion page.
Q:Is Snug Play safe? Does Snug conform to the appropriate Standards?
A:As Snug Play is a new concept and made up of loose parts, there is no current Play Standard that is totally applicable. Snug has however been designed in the spirit of EN1176, which is the standard appropriate to fixed play equipment in Europe. It has also been developed in close consultation with RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) who have concluded that they “believe Snug is a product that is well suited to elementary school playgrounds and is suitably safe”.
Q:How do I clean our Snug Play system?
A:Snug Play elements can be washed easily with soap and water. For more information see the Snug Play User’s Guide. Use the Maintenance History sheet provided in the User’s Guide to keep track of the maintenance history of your Snug Play system.

Snug Play is a radical new approach to play spaces that is changing the way children play and develop. Snug Play systems consist of a family of large-scale, manipulative loose-play elements that children can use separately or together in endless configurations. Children can create a dynamic and exciting play space where they can actively have fun, explore, and learn. Facilitators can use Snug Play as a creative learning resource to extend classroom learning. Requiring no installation, the Snug Play elements combine soft and rigid surfaces for a tactile play experience that is durable and weather-resistant.
